tonight, after a few drinks with some poker buddies I am going to a lecture at Poker In The Park. Its about tells and reading body language. I am sure they'll take one look at me and the lecture will open with "the fish, usually a drunken blonde in dangerously high heels, can be spotted by her glassy eyes and more than slight wobble when she walks". Still I might learn something...

On Saturday night I was invited to a home game that I play at every couple of months or so. I know the regulars well and there were some new additions to the table who were in town for the weekend.

Has any one else noticed that they play better with a redbull inside them? I have. And it is a really notable difference. I played in a home game a few weeks ago with no stimulants and the deck did run cold for me but I didn't play my best in the circumstances. Then this week, I played on a liquid redbull dinner and was right back on form.

.. When the UK smoking ban came in my first reactions was "I cannot play my rockets effectively without a cigarette in my hand!"
