Played my first live tourney - 45 entries, made the final table and busted in 6th when my AQspades didn't hold up against his ATdiamonds (ran into 3 diamonds on the flop).
Nice atmosphere, didn't make me feel too stupid when it was pretty blantantly apparent I'd only played online (apart from our few home games).
One guy threatened to "lamp" me when I busted him (admittedly, it was very cheeky call but he was playing looser than an MFI wardrobe). That aside, a really enjoyable night, only trouble being I had no idea I would get so far. Got to bed 2:30 am. Fresh as a daisy for my daughter's sportsday next morning.
My wife thinks I'm getting a bit obsessed. She may have a point.

How could I have forgotten to mention the most important bit? 6th place paid out £35. So £2 entry, one rebuy (£10) when my trip Aces ran into a flush, one top-up (£10), diesel there and back (say £6), refreshments £5.20. £33.20 in all.
Profits = £1.80
