How to play Alabama Hold'em

  1. Hole Cards. Four cards are dealt face down to each player around the table.
  2. The Flop. Three cards are dealt face up on the table for everyone to see and these are called ‘community’ cards
  3. The Turn. Alongside the flop a fourth card is dealt face up onto the table.
  4. The River. A fifth card is dealt to the table face up to make up the five cards that you have to match with.

The five cards on the table are for everyone, they are called the community cards. You make your hand by taking three of your hole cards and two of the community cards, and creating the best poker hand that you possibly can. All the players around the table have access to the community cards. When playing for money there are four rounds of betting, one round after each card is dealt.
