International Poker Open blog number 2 - Jola Taxi!

I awoke feeling slightly like my head was full of cotton wool but well rested from the oh so comfortable bed. It was 11, so we headed for the lobby to see where the gang were camping out until we had to leave. Kid informed me we would be leaving at 1, I wasn't taking my chances after the state he was in the night before.

On my exit from the lift I find 'Team Spannered' huddled around a laptop on a sofa giggling like children. There were already empty beer bottles on the table. Time to join in.So over a beer I was introduced to the people, that 3 days later I didn't want to part from.

Lets start with my only other fellow female - Lulu. Super cute, hyper excitable with an accent that brings joy to you ears and a smile that could light up the room, Lulu provided more than drinks at the table for me. She was my respite when the testosterone got too much! Next came Brother Mince, his hair is longer than mine, his beard is impressive, he is poker room branded to the max and though his words are few he means every word he says. Next was Statto, tall, loud and funny. His mischievous side kick Nigel the chef whose face did not break from a smile the whole time we were there. And finally DD, the ultimate degenerate with a mohawk. Nuff said.

Shortly after 1 the kid directed us outside to our 'taxi'. It was a limo. All I could think was that this was soooo him!

We boarded our ride and cracked open the bottles of...Perry? Well it was better than nothing and Kojak hates the real stuff so he was a happy bunny, and I didn't refuse a flute of chateau neuf de pear!

I must mention at this point that the limo was hired to go 500m up the road to the Regency where the tournament was being played. Again, that's sooooo kid! We attracted quite a crowd until we all hopped out and no on knew who we were...but the hilarity was enough for us and the car provided plenty of photo opportunities for all the other nobodies waiting to register!
