SKY UK Poker Tour at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham - better late than never...
Seeing as the Princess has been sick, I felt it my duty to write this one up. Of course, that should have been done many months ago but it slipped through the net. In my effort to promote equality in the world of UK Poker I thought it only fair to remind you of what you have doubtless read elsewhere already but still deserves a space on poker buddies.
Female poker pro Maria Demetriou took first place in the first "Sky Poker UK Tour" and a seat into the Grande Finale Event!! Woo hoo!! has it happened yet will have to check in a bit...leave comments please.
Sky's UK Poker Tour began on Saturday 13th of September 2008 at Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham. Maria Demetriou was among 120 players who qualified through online Satellites at SkyPoker.com as well as live Satellites held at Dusk Till Dawn.
Maria Demetriou said:
“There were at least two women on each table!!! It's great that Sky have hosted a tournament that has attracted so many women tocome and play!”
Maria Demetriou is slowly but surely making a name for herself on the UK poker circuit.
She says:
"My main goal is to win a poker biggie like the European Poker Tour"
Though in a less guidy mood she admitted “I can’t be too choosy.” Maria began playing poker professionally in 1997 and according to the poker press she prefers playing No Limit and Pot Limit Texas Hold’em.

Move over Kara Scott, I've got a new idol(victim) to worship(harass).
She looked so hot in her Sunderland strip at the IPO.
