Ladbrokes Ads banned by ASA in UK

Not 100% poker, I know, but I'm sure you'll all be interested anyway?!

The UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has banned two of Ladbrokes latest TV adverts! Which is a pity cos I for one thought they were pretty funny.

According to the ASA, the ruling was made because:

"the ASA received a public complaint"

Ladbrokes released a statement last Wednesday confirming that they (Ladbrokes) object to the ASA's ruling;

"We are seeking a review of the ASA’s ruling and we believes the ASA has applied the advertising standards code incorrectly"

“Ladbrokes fully supports the ASA's code of practice relating to gambling advertising but in our opinion, this ruling is an example of political correctness going too far,”

said John O'Reilly, MD Ladbrokes Remote Betting and Gaming,

“We believe the ads are compliant with ASA standards, as they are humorous. Consumers know that you cannot jump from a plane using a 30g pack of crisps as a parachute!!!!”
