Lakes of Killarney trip report...

Head down on the thursday for the super satt. 67 runners,4k starting stack. €50 rebuy, with a very tough structure that makes it a rough crapshoot at the end. I quadruple up and top up 6k at the break. go card dead for 2 hours. at one stage we didnt see a flop at our table for an hour. with 5 to go to ticket,and struggling with chips, Doke pushes into my BB from the button(I have him covered by a 500 ante), I look down at AQc and call. he tables KJc.. K on the flop. :( A on the river :D . The chips are enough to carry me through to get a ticket. Hit the bar. hard.

Main event day 1
Action kicks off at 6.30pm.15k starting stack, 1hour blinds. Im sat at a very strong table, Plenty of recognisable players, and the first four levels are quite tough going, my stack is yo-yoing between 10 and 20k as i get involved good and bad. after dinner break at end of level4 the table has really settled down, and people have a fairly good measure of each other. Then this happened :

I look down at KJc from early position. I bet 900, one caller MP and BB completes. flop : Aq Qc 10c. I'VE FLOPPED MY FIRST LIVE ROYALLER!!! checked around. turn comes blank. BB bets 1200.. I flat call.. and player 3 RERAISES to 4800!! I'm looking around, anywhere but at the table, and tryin my best hollywooding about it all. BB takes 4 minutes to fold. I turn to raiser and say "Did you flop your flush??" he doesnt flinch. I ham it up for another minute before calling. 10 on the river and I curse it and check, hoping to Poker god he's hit his house. he bets out 3200. I mull for a second or two then re-shove for 6600 total. he folds and tells me he had absolute rags and was just making a play, I turn over the hand to show the table. :) BB later tells me he folded Q10 on the turn, so if we'd managed to keep him in there was more value in it, but I can't complain.
Night is going well, we lose a few players, and some are moved in. with about 30k I raise it up with Kjd and get two callers. Flop gives me top pair with th K and a flush draw. I raise, villian 1 folds, villian 2 re-raises for his last 5k more. I call, expecting AK. worse, his 710offsuit has two paired. nice call preflop mate. no help on the board, and im down chips and angry. if I win here, Im cruising for day 2, the loss puts me back down to circa 21k, which is average stack, and knowng these tourneys day 2 structures, average stack is gonna require some tough work tomorrow. day ends. I hit the bar. hard.

Day 2:
I yo yo like a, well, yo yo. Im up 6k, then after another bad beat, go on super monkey tilt, and lose nearly all my chips. I'm seriously shortstacked, and its down to two idiot donkeys who got moved to the table. example.. blinds 500-1k. UTG donkey shoves for 45k. shows tens. and then shoves again next hand. I tried my best to be patient and wait to chip him off and it worked against me.
QQ on the button, I shove for 4k and get two callers and that gets me back in the game for a bit, but the levels are beginning to attack me seriously.
Exit hand was embarrasingly bad for me. BB with 77, MP limps, button calls and I massively overbet by tabling 6k. MP shoves. button folds. I have 14k behind, and the clock has just sounded for new level which is gonna cost me 2,500 a round. somehow, in my mind, this is what i focused on to call. Terrible, I know, and i deserved the earbashing I got from MP who tabled QQ because he was worried I'd suck out. I almost fill a straight BTW ;)
Hit the bar. Hard.
